New Storage Fees at Kai and Karo Showrooms
It’s not a secret that Kai and Karo are perhaps one of the most popular car retailers in East Africa. Its popularity – credited to the CEO has seen the company amass about 1.5 million visitors online through its website.
I did some research online through popular search engine traffic platforms. The total organic traffic for the Kai and Karo website is a little under 200,000 visitors (data for January 2025 from Similarweb), which had fallen by 12% compared to December 2024.
Note: Data on organic visitors and non-active visitors.
That data only means one thing. Kai and Karo are widespread in Kenya. Therefore, the car retailer company has updated the fees to their showrooms to the following:
- Kiambu Road Showroom: KES 250 per day
- Diamond Plaza Showroom: KES 300 per day
According to the establishment. The updated rates aim to ensure the company offers top-of-the-range vehicle care, maintenance, and security.

So, What’s the Change?
It’s unclear what charges the showroom offered before the update. Still, according to the statement released by the CEO on x.com, the retailer aims to improve the following services for its clientele.
Improve Security at Kai and Karo Showrooms
If you want to sell your vehicle through Kai and Karo and enjoy some of its popularity, selling your unit faster, you want to ensure your vehicle is secured. Part of the updated fee is to provide the company with 24/7 security for your car.
Based on the tweet on x.com, both Kai and Karo Kiambu Road and Diamond Plaza showrooms are equipped with high-tech surveillance equipment and on-site security guards to ensure clients’ vehicles are safe.
Vehicle Maintenance and Cleaning
If you’ve ever sold or bought a car, you understand that its aesthetics (cleaning and maintenance) count the most when appealing to a buyer. Customers won’t buy a car if it’s dirty or poorly maintained, regardless of the showroom.
Since Kai and Karo want to maintain their reputation for selling clean cars, part of the updated fees will ensure that clients’ vehicles undergo regular care to maintain excellent condition.
Comprehensive Insurance Coverage
So, what happens when a car yard owner fails to pay rent on a property they use for business? Half the time, the owner or company managing the property may confiscate or restrict access to the property until specific claims are settled.
You don’t want to find yourself or your vehicle in such a problem. That’s where comprehensive insurance coverage comes in. According to Kai and Karo, all their properties are insured for their client’s vehicles’ safety–even in natural calamities.
Possible Adjustments to Test Drive Policy
In addition to the storage fee updates announced by the CEO through x.com – the company is also considering changes to its test drive policy. Although there might be stricter restrictions regarding test drivers, Kai and Karo are still open to negotiating solutions to meet their client’s needs.
What does this mean for Kai and Karo Clients?
This announcement is part of Kai and Karo’s plan and commitment to offer secure, well-maintained, and high-quality vehicle storage services for their current and potential clientele.
