If you are traveling to Nairobi and would love to check out the shopping scene, Two Rivers Malls would be the best bang for your buck. I know, I know, checking out the shopping scene in Nairobi would be weird, considering the rich culture you can explore.
Still, don’t get me wrong, Two Rivers Mall in Nairobi has some amazing and fun activities you can indulge in. For starters, it’s the most convenient and best location for tourists to shop. It’s also the perfect place for visitors to acclimatize with Kenyans before hitting the streets.
Kenya was ranked the top destination to visit in 2024 by LonelyPlanet, and it doesn’t come as a surprise. Other than being East Africa’s commercial hub, it’s also a top destination for wildlife tourism – including the Annual Wildebeest Migration.
One of the best locations I love to book my rental apartments (Ruaka Neighborhood) happens to be close to Two Rivers Malls. As you’d expect, it’s the most convenient place for me to shop and dine when I don’t feel like going into Nairobi Central Business District. Additionally, the mall has tons of fun activities you can indulge in. In this post, I’ll share some of my favorite Two Rivers Mall activities.

Where to Find Two Rivers Mall
Two Rivers Mall is the largest mall (67,000 square meters) in Nairobi, Kenya, and East Africa, making it a popular attraction among city residents and an a-must-visit location for tourists. It’s located around the Ruaka neighborhood, along Limuru Road.
Ruaka is an upcoming, young, upbeat middle-class neighborhood located at the western end of Nairobi’s Nothern bypass. You won’t get lost in Nairobi if you ask anyone for directions to Two Rivers Mall. Depending on where you ask for directions, you’ll need to get a cab, a motorbike taxi, or take a short walk.
Two Rivers Mall is popular with expatriates (thanks to its location close to the swanky neighborhood of Runda), as well as upper-class and middle-class Nairobians. It’s also one of the most popular locations for tourists, thanks to its host of international shopping brands, delis, clothing lines, and fun activities.
Fun Activities At Two Rivers Mall Nairobi
Other than enjoying a nice meal at one of the top-rated restaurants or shopping at its exclusive shops, Two Rivers Mall has a Funscapes Theme Park dedicated to all the fun activities to keep you engaged throughout the day. The following are fun activities at Two Rivers Mall that I love to indulge in and that I hope you’ll enjoy, too.

Flume Ride
It’s your typical log flume ride with a sprinkle of African vibe under the hot Nairobi sky. Therefore, you need to be ready to get wet and prepare for some wild screams and thrills as the ride navigates through fascinating turns, crushing through water puddles and bringing out your inner child.
I always enjoy the Flume ride. It’s the perfect fun activity at Two Rivers, where you can easily make friends or break ice with other riders.
Charges: KES 500 (per person per ride).
Ferris Wheel
It’s perhaps the first thing anyone sees when entering Two Rivers Mall. If you can’t see a Ferris Wheel, you are not in Two Rivers Mall. It’s also the largest crowd-pleaser at the mall since everyone wants to get a shot at riding up the wheel.
You won’t want to miss this ride because it gives you the cheapest and most thrilling view of the northern side of Nairobi city. It’s the perfect Two Rivers Mall fun activity for kids—and also loved ones—especially if you are trying to spark romance creatively on a budget.
The Two Rivers Ferris wheel features 40 cabins (6-person capacity) and rotates twice every 15 minutes.
Charges: KES 500 (per person per ride).
Indoor Paintball
In case you are in the mood to get wild and shoot some paintball guns with your squad or a pack of like-minded adrenaline junkies – the Indoor Paintball is the activity I’d recommend.
Don’t worry about getting messy with the pain. The mall staff will provide protective gear and instructions to ensure that your experience is exhilarating, fun, and, most importantly, safe.
This is the perfect place to break ice or get into a cheerful mood, especially for traveling groups or individuals looking to make new friends.
Charges: Groups (1 – 9 individuals) KES 1,500 per person (10 individuals or more get a KES 200 discount at KES 1,300). Target Shotting KES 1,000 per individual (50 paintballs per session).
Go Karting
Go Karting in a mall? Yes! Two Rivers is quite huge—67,000 square meters, to be exact—and a Go-Kart ring, Madmax Karting, is just the tip of the iceberg. Well, if you are an automotive buff and would like to get into some fun-controlled motor racing, this is the fun activity to pick.
You’ll get the chance to push your Go Karts to the limit at a controlled, ultra-modern outdoor kart track. It’s quite a fascinating and safe experience. Weekdays and weekends have different charges.
Weekday Charges: KES 2,800 per person (10 minutes), KES 4,300 per person (20 minutes drive), and KES 6,000 per person (30-minute drive).
Weekend Charges: KES 3,300 per person (10 minutes), KES 5,500 per person (20 minutes drive) and KES 7,000 per person (30 minutes drive).
Airborne Shot
If you love getting shot into the air, I recommend trying out the Airborne Shot at Two Rivers Mall in Nairobi. It’s the ultimate adventure experience in a mall, getting shot into the air in a bungee trampoline-like effect.
Don’t get scared; each participant gets a harness attached to the bungee chord, and the effect is gravity-defying flips into the air that will get you spinning into an excited frenzy. I’d recommend this activity for adrenaline junkies.
Charges: KES 500 (per person per ride).
Skating
As I stated earlier, Two Rivers Mall in Nairobi has a huge property, and if you are visiting with a group of kids, the skating grounds would be the perfect spot to keep them occupied.
You can visit with your own gear or rent from the establishment or skating groups at the section. You could also enroll your child in a skating crash course (at a fee).
Charges: Depend on the activity, time, and group renting. If you have your own gear – it’s free of charge to enjoy.
Drop Tower
If the Airborne Shot isn’t exciting enough for you, and you’d like to feel your guts press on your chest as you swing around, I’d recommend trying out the Drop Tower.
This fun activity entails dropping down a tower (15 feet) in a death-defying stance. It’s like driving over a cliff in your car – but with safety harnesses and the guarantee you won’t get hurt but derive a few laughs and screams in the process.
It’s the perfect activity for individuals looking to conquer their fear of heights.
Charges: KES 500 (per person per ride).
Aqua Park (Best for Kids)
For some reason, kids love to play with water, especially when you are not looking and you are paying for it. Well, Aqua Park at Two Rivers Mall is their chance to play with all the water they like without hurting their pocket on the next water bill.
There are pools, splash slides, and thrilling fountains. Better yet, active staff look out for your kids and ensure they experience the best of what the park has to offer. Best of all, it is free of charge.
PS: Adults or children over the age of 12 cannot use Aqua Park.
Charges: Free.
Amazing Restaurant Scene
Two Rivers Mall is quite expensive, and believe me when I tell you, it can get quite tiring walking through the shops, getting entertained at the fun activity centers, or browsing for things to buy.
If you are looking for a nice restaurant to eat at, there are tons of spots to pick from. Whether you are looking for a barbecue experience, a cozy cafe for some warm coffee, a deli for some delicious burgers or just a nice spot to watch the buzzing atmosphere and enjoy your packed sandwich, there’s a designated spot for you.
Some of the popular restaurants at Two Rivers Mall in Nairobi include Burger King, Pizza Inn, and Artcaffee. Check the mall information center for more options.
Exciting Shopping District
If you are looking for something to shop at the Two Rivers Mall – there’s a good chance you will find it. Two Rivers is the largest mall in East Africa, and as a result, there is a bounty of shops for anything you can think of.
Clothing, camping, automotive, fashion, food, jewelry, Souvenirs, tools—name it, and you’ll find it in Two Rivers Mall’s wide selection of shops.
Cinema Entertainment
Watching a movie at the Cinema hits differently, especially if you tagged along a date. It’s unlike anything you’d experience watching your favorite Netflix movie, thanks to the amazing sound, display, and comfortable seats made specifically for audio-visual entertainment.
At Two Rivers Mall, guests can catch their favorite and latest films at Century Cinema—a state-of-the-art movie theatre within the confines of Two Rivers Mall, Nairobi.
